Nanite changed how trees work. Bring yours along.

Foliage Toolkit brings the trees you already have to Nanite: the ones your artists made and the packs you bought.

What it does

One click. Three jobs.

The original palm cards: large polygons around each frond, most of their area transparent
The same cards cut to the shape of the leaves
Tree: Oleksiy Before After
LitePlus

Cut the cards to reduce overdraw

Each leaf card is cut to the shape of its leaves, as an opaque mesh. Nanite draws much less, and no leaf pixel is lost.

Sample palm: 100% → 59.6% of the card area drawn.

Build assemblies to lower disk size

Repeated leaf cards are stored once, as parts of a Nanite assembly, and drawn thousands of times.

One pine: 8.33 MB → 3.17 MB on disk.

Tree: Oleksiy
LitePlus

Rebuild the tree automatically to add wind

One click turns your static mesh tree into a Nanite skeletal tree that moves with Epic’s Dynamic Wind.

Nanite Overdraw view of seven oaks with the original cards: large orange and yellow areas
The same oaks with the cut cards: much less orange and yellow

See the overdraw drop

Unreal’s Nanite Overdraw view of seven oaks, before and after the cut. The hot colours show where many layers of cards are drawn on the same pixel.

Hottest pixels 164k → 83k, mean overdraw -25%

For studios

Let your artists make art.

An AI agent does the boring part: it converts your tree library while your team works on the game. It analyses each tree, converts it, looks at the result and fixes what it can. Most trees need no human work. The few that do are flagged, with a report that says why.

  • — Your artists spend their time on creative work, not on conversions
  • — Your budget goes to the work that makes your game stand out
  • — Works with Claude Code, Codex and other coding agents
  • — A conversion report for the whole library
